Calculate date
How to use the Date
- 1Choose Find the difference or Add/subtract days.
- 2Enter the dates or the starting date and day count.
- 3Select Calculate to see the date result.
Formula explained
Date difference = absolute number of UTC calendar days between the dates. Date arithmetic moves the selected calendar date by the entered number of days.
Example calculation
There are 10 days between 1 March and 11 March. Adding 14 days to 1 March gives 15 March in a non-leap year.
Frequently asked questions
Are start and end dates included in the day count?
The difference is elapsed calendar days: same-day dates equal zero days. Add one if you need to count both endpoints.
Does it handle leap years?
Yes. Date calculations use calendar dates and account for leap days.
Can I add negative days?
Use the Add or Subtract selection and enter a non-negative day count; this keeps the direction explicit.
